Wyndel Glenn Mangrum

August 14, 1942 — January 7, 2025

Pickton

Wyndel “Glenn” Mangrum was born on August 14, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to W.C. and Opal Mangrum. He grew up in Dallas and attended Dallas schools. On December 30, 1960, he married Judy Carolyn Parker. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a minister of the gospel. He was ordained with the Assemblies of God in June of 1966. Together, he and Judy pastored Love Field Assembly of God in Dallas, First Assembly of God in Athens, Texas, Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Dallas, and Southside Assembly of God in Garland, Texas. He served the Assemblies of God North Texas District as the Director of Senior Adults and was the secretary for the North Dallas Section for 25 years. He also enjoyed his ten years as Senior Adult Minister and Associate Pastor at First at Firewheel in Garland. Upon retirement in 2010, he and Judy moved to the family ranch in Pickton, Texas, but his work was not finished. He continued to stay busy driving a school bus and substitute teaching at Como-Pickton CISD. His eyes would light up when he talked about these students. He was an avid fan of all sports at CPCISD.

On Tuesday, January 7, at 3:54 pm, Glenn entered the presence of his personal savior with his family by his side. While there are no words to describe what his absence will mean to us, we are comforted knowing that he is experiencing all of the wonders of Heaven that he preached about for so long. His humor, personality, love for God, music and guitars will live on through his kids and grandkids. His love for them was immeasurable.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Opal Mangrum, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judy Mangrum; son, Karl Mangrum; daughter, Kimbra Mouser (Darrick); grandchildren Kayla Mangrum, Kyndel Mangrum, Colbi White (Anthony), and Cory Mouser (Addyson); great-grandchildren, Beau Mangrum, Raelynn Mangrum, and Lainey White; brother, Bill Mangrum (Shirley) and sister Brenda Wilson. He also leaves behind many friends who are more like family, brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
