Woody and his brothers were musicians and had a family band both when he was growing up and later in life. He played the guitar and could also play the fiddle. He was a great musician who played by ear. The band would play venues like the VFW. When he was in his eighties he would play music at local nursing homes for the "old people" as he called them.
Woody was an avid fisherman and after his retirement went fishing almost daily. He was known to go fishing even on the coldest days of winter. His failing health later in life was the only thing that kept him from continuing to pursue his hobby.
Woody loved to give lollipops or hard candy to anyone he met. He could be found most days at Walmart riding on the electric cart visiting with employees and customers alike and giving out candy. After his visit at Walmart, Woody could be found at his favorite restaurant, Bill Smith's Café, where he ate lunch almost daily. The waitress staff always received candy.
Woody will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
