Winnie Lou Slaughter

August 26, 1931 — March 14, 2022

Winnie Lou Slaughter, born August 26, 1931 in Bailey, Texas passed away March 14, 2022 in Mansfield.
Formally from Garland, she worked at First National Bank, Bell Telephone Company, and owned her own dance school "Winnie's School of Dance".
On November 28, 1956 she married the love of her life, John Slaughter, who was a Dallas Police Officer. Anytime she saw a police officer she would stop and tell about "Johnny", and how much she thanked them for their service.
Known by everyone as Grandmother or GMom, Winnie was a loving, dedicated, stubborn, unsweet tea drinking, red wearing, feisty woman. She did everything she could to be at any sporting event for her grandkids or go out to dinner with friends and family. She never met a stranger and most of the time would talk your ear off.
Winnie is proceeded in death by her Husband, John Slaughter. Survived by granddaughters that she raised as daughters Dionne Watts, husband Richard Watts, and Denae Bell. Five great grandchildren Hailee and Clayton Smith, Dylan and Cody Watts, and Cash Dunlap. Two great-great grandchildren Kambri Smith and Asher Watts.
Winnie will be remembered by her giving heart and and willingness to treat everyone like family.
