Winnie Louise Watson Selman, loving "Meme" to all who knew her, joined our Heavenly Father in the evening on Saturday, April 2, 2022. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and friends.
Louise was born the 5th child of eleven to Earl and Hattie Watson on September 18, 1927, in Canton, Texas. At the age of 18, she left her west Texas home, came to Dallas and got a job for Sears. She continued work at Sears until 1951. Louise married JD Selman on June 14, 1947. The Selmans were blessed with two children - a son, Don, and a daughter, Terri.
Louise will be remembered by all who knew her as a friendly, caring, motherly woman who made sure everyone around her was always fed and comfortable. She was an early riser and a hard worker who believed in doing things the right way. Her warm hugs and cold sweet tea will be missed by many.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and 7 of her 10 siblings. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and David Granberry, daughter-in-law Linda Selman, grandchildren Brandon Blythe and his wife Melissa, Christie Cheek and her husband David, Rachel Selman, Kate Ortamond and her husband Clayton, Bess Rangel and her husband Josh, Maggie Westlund, twenty great grandchildren, her sister Juanita Fox, sister Vernell Duvall, and brother Larry Watson.
