WIllie Dee Ballard

Willie Dee Ballard was born in Athens, Texas to Ealy Nelson Ballard and Gladys Jewel Eddlemon Ballard on January 4th, 1932, and passed away on April 6, 2020 in Dallas, Texas.

Willie graduated from Mabank High School and immediately joined the Air Force. He also served in the National Guard. Willie was an attorney in private practice, followed by a career as an attorney in public service. He was a member of the Hella Shrine and enjoyed being involved in community organizations. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jessie Mae Jeffrey Ballard of Dallas; his son, Blake Ballard and wife Judy of Searcy, Arkansas; daughter Lisa Sterling and husband David of Dallas, Texas and their children; grandson Reagan Sterling and granddaughter Reid Sterling. He is also survived by his two sisters, Dorothy Hunter of Mabank, Texas, and Jo Stone and husband Arlis, of Grand Saline, Texas, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Internment services will take place at the DFW National Cemetery at a future date with a private family service.
