William Bernard Mozley

April 21, 1939 — April 26, 2018

On April 26, 2018, Bill, known as Daddy, Papa and Billy, passed away peacefully. Bill began his life on April 21, 1939 in Dallas, Texas becoming the son of Winifred Alice Kneisel and Barney Webster Mozley. He had three sisters, Patricia Doing, Frances Peay, and Susan Tripp.He attended elementary school at St. Edwards in Dallas and completed high school at Jesuit College Preparatory in 1957. Bill studied two years at Arlington College before enlisting in the United States Navy where he served proudly for six years.In June 1960, he married the love of his life Olivia “Ann” Roney, and together they raised three children William Herrick, Gregory Alan (wife Dulce), and Amy Kathleen (husband, Robert Burton), and were later blessed with five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and an extended family of many nieces and nephews. Ann and Bill were married 58 years and lived a full and joyful life. In the early years of marriage Bill began his professional career with Texas Instruments and later retired from IBM after 28 years of service. Their particular enjoyment was traveling extensively together. Their home was a constant source of love and comfort to numerous friends and family, and hosting many a social event was always on the agenda.Bill was first and foremost a family man but will also be remembered as a man of character and integrity that always defended the “underdog.” He was truly loved by all. Bill shared a passion for golf and was very active in the community of Richardson where he resided for 45 years. He served as HOA President in the Duck Creek community and Wyndsor Court, and was an active Crime Watch representative. Bill was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 40 years where he served many ministries which included the Catholic Youth Organization, and as a leader within the Knights of Columbus. St. Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate Bill’s life with a Memorial Mass on Thursday, May 17 at 1:30 PM. Inurnment will follow at the church. A rosary will precede the mass at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph, Richardson.Services entrusted to Charles W. Smith & Sons of Sachse
