William H. Morrow

September 9, 1937 — September 29, 2016

William H. “Will” Morrow, age 79 of Lavon, TX, passed away September 29, 2016 in Rowlett, TX. He was born on September 9, 1937 in Culleoka, TX to James Martin and Lois Beatrice (Gracy) Morrow. He married Norma Norris on December 22, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Kaufman, TX, and they lived in the Lavon area for 50 years. Will served in the U.S. Navy Reserve and was the owner of his own construction company. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Lavon.

Will was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He was larger than life itself and, he touched many people with his kindness, generosity and “big heart”. Will never met a stranger, and he would walk away from a person he had just met for the first time as if he had known them for a lifetime.

He enjoyed driving his “old cars”, riding his Harley and taking his annual tractor pull trips with Marty. Will loved spending time with his family most of all. And, for instilling this principle in our lives and leaving behind a rich, Christian heritage, we will forever be grateful.

Will is survived by his wife, Norma Morrow; daughter, Angela Wellborn and husband, Robert; son, Martin Morrow; grandchildren, Sarah Owen, Rachel Lambert, William Mize, Brandon Wellborn, Mark Mize, Jr., and Matthew Mize; great-grandchildren, Gracy Owen, Hannah Lambert, Amelia Mize and Isabella Mize. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Myrlinda Owen.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Rockwall, 610 S. Goliad, Rockwall, TX 75087, with Rev. Mike Powell and Rev. Glen Binion officiating. Interment will follow at Thompson Cemetery, Nevada, TX. Pallbearers will be Mike Morrow, Dennis James Morrow, Dennis Martin Morrow, Jarrod Morrow, Martin McCormick, Brad Justiss, Larry Harris, Roger Prince, John Turner and Duane Dahse.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Teen Life Challenge, 1648 Axe Dr., Garland, TX 75041.“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from this body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
