William H. "Bill" Shugart

William (Bill) Howard Shugart, 78, member of a pioneer Garland family, peacefully passed away, Saturday, June 15, 2019.

Bill was born February 1, 1941 in Garland, TX to Howard and Jimolea Shugart. He graduated from Garland High School in 1959. He attended East Texas State University and worked for Continental Fidelity Insurance and later owned his own agency. In his later years, he opened and ran Double T Steak & Grill in Terrell, TX. He enjoyed hunting, golf, and most importantly visiting with family and friends. He was an authentic people person who opened his home and heart to kids and adults alike.

Bill is survived by his two daughters. Misty Shugart of Garland, TX , Wendy Coles and her husband Ricky Coles of Rockwall, TX. Three grandchildren, Blake Schreiber, Kailea Coles, Jaden Coles, and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Jimolea Shugart, and brothers Jack, Jim, Rick, and Vick. His son, William Ty Shugart, and nephews Jimmy Shugart, and Eric Shugart.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, June 19th from 6-8PM and a celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 20th at 10:00AM at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sasche, TX 75048.
