William Fetzer

January 18, 1948 — April 13, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Fetzer announces his passing on Friday, April 13, 2018, at the age of 70. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all those who knew him. Bill was a devout Catholic and servant of our Lord. He was always active in the community and enjoyed serving on the Boy Scouts as a troop leader, Knights of Columbus color guard, Wylie Lions Club as their current President, and as a mentor to students in local schools. Bill was a Corporal in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a Stay-At-Home dad for many years before going to work for the Municipal Water District.


Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Ronni; his children, Karen (Patrick), Danny (Carrie), Andy, and Allie (Travis); his 7 grandchildren Maura, Dierdra, Jack, Olivia, Charlotte, Hannah, and Myka; his sister Susan and brother Tim (Pam). He precedes his parents, Brothers-in-Law, and niece.


A funeral service and celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home (2925 5th St., Sachse, TX) from 6-8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM. The funeral mass will on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (404 N. Ballard Ave, Wylie, TX) at 10 AM. A procession will follow the family to Millwood Cemetery in Lavon.


In lieu of flowers, the Family requests memorial donations made to Wylie ISD Education Foundation (951 S. Ballard Ave, Wylie, TX) in honor of his service and dedication as a Wylie ISD mentor.
