Wesley “Wes” Glenn Martin, 45, of Garland was called home to our Lord and Savior on Thursday June 8, 2023 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. A memorial service celebrating Wes’ life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday July 8, 2023 at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall with Pastor Mauri Villasenor officiating.
Wes was born on September 12, 1977 in Irving, Texas. He is the oldest son of Robert Glenn Martin and Patricia Ann Martin. His middle brother Michael Martin preceded Wes in death on May 17, 2018. He was raised in the shadow of the old Cowboys Stadium as he used to say proudly. Wes graduated from Irving High School in 1996. He continued his education at various Dallas Colleges as he was a talented baseball player and received many scholarships. He finished his college career by graduating from Ouchita Baptist University with his degree in Biology in 2000.
He later met Olivia in Dallas in 2009 and they began their journey with a sweet and solid friendship. Wes helped lead Olivia to accept Christ and they soon realized God brought them together in love. They were married on November 20, 2010.
Although Wes’ degree was in Biology, he took a job in the electronics manufacturing field and never looked back. He excelled as a sales representative and then manager at a couple of different companies local to Texas and most recently worked remotely as the vice president of sales and marketing for a company out of North Carolina. Wes was charismatic and extremely kind which made sales very easy for him- but the selling was never his sole purpose for connecting with others in his industry.
Working remotely allowed Wes the freedom to spend as much time as he possibly could with his beloved wife Olivia and his children Gabriel and Ava. Anyone who knew Wes, knew he absolutely adored his family. They were his reason for giving everything his 100% effort, whether cheering on the kids at whatever sports they were trying, volunteering at their school, or consistently modeling Christ’s love in the way he served others.
Wes is deeply missed by his wife, Olivia; mother Patricia Ann Martin; father Glenn Martin and wife Judith; son Gabriel Wesley; daughter Ava Ruth ; brother Cliff Martin and wife Shana; in laws Isidro and Lydia Carbajal and countless extended aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and colleagues.
The family would like to extend deep gratitude to the staff at MRMC and especially 6 ICU for their loving care of Wes.
Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
