W.C. Starr

W.C. “Bill” Starr, Jr., age 87 of Garland, TX, passed away on November 29, 2016 in Mesquite, TX He was born on November 17, 1929 in Longview, TX to Willis Christopher Starr, Sr. and Jewel (Rogers) Starr. Bill married Sherry Jordan in 1973, and he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired supervisor for Dallas Area Rapid Transit, a member of Keystone Masonic Lodge and an avid poker player.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sherry Starr; daughters, Terri Priddy, Cathy Carter, and Jennifer Milam and husband, Gary; sister, Gloria Spencer; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joni Hardy, brother, Larry Starr and parents, Willis C. Starr, Sr. and Jewell Starr.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, December 2, 2016 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Chapel in Sachse. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
