Wayne Arthur Hudec

Wayne Arthur Hudec, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2014, in Sachse, Texas. He was born on December 30, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Anna Hudec. His strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried him through his long illness.
As a young man he was drafted and proudly served in the US Army in the Military Intelligence Corps, where he traveled across the country during his service. Wayne grew up in Chicago, where he met and married Barbara. Wayne and Barbara started their family in Chicago, moved to Ohio and back to Illinois before settling in Plano, Texas, in 1977.
Wayne was one of a kind and will truly be missed by his family and all that knew him. He was quick to joke and enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He treasured being surrounded by family and friends. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and enjoyed routing on all Dallas professional sports teams. He was always very active in the Church and he so loved to travel with his lovely wife.
Wayne started in sales as a young man and eventually started his own company and ran it until he retired at age 65. He adored traveling to different states and cities, meeting with people from all walks of life.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna.
Wayne survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Hudec, daughter Karren Kingery, sons Wayne and John, grandchildren Kory, Samantha, and Indy Von, great-grandson Duncan, and his sister June Knoop.
His memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 2nd at the Wylie United Methodist Church. 1401 FM 1378 Wylie, TX 75098, Reverend John Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to a charity of your choice in Wayne's name.
