91, of Wylie, Texas, passed away January 26, 2013 in Wylie, Texas. She was born February 12, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois.
Wanda was a Registered Nurse at the Fairview Oklahoma hospital and nursing home. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Fairview, Oklahoma and was currently a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Wylie, Texas. She was a talented oil painter and a loving Mother and Grandmother.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland C. Simpson; parents, Claude and June Venis Bailey; and her siblings. She looked forward to a reunion in Heaven with her Daddy.
Wanda is survived by her son, Darrel Simpson of San Benito, Texas; daughter, Joyce Brewer and her husband, Todd of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; five grandchildren, Susan Sargent and her husband, Troy of Wylie, Texas, Craig Simpson and his wife, Lisa of Anna, Texas, Curt Robinson of Enid, Oklahoma, Dave Brewer and his wife, Laurel of Ogden, Utah, and Nate Brewer and his wife, Britt of Portland, Oregon; ten great-grandchildren, Emily Sargent and Troy James Sargent of Wylie, Texas, Haley Simpson, Katie Simpson and Clayton Simpson of Anna, Texas, Ethan Robinson of Enid, Oklahoma, Emilia Brewer and Henry Brewer of Ogden, Utah, and Jake Brewer and Cody Brewer of Portland, Oregon.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048.
Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at New Heights Baptist Church, 340 Hooper Road, Wylie, Texas 75098. Pastor Steve Foster officiating.
