Wanda "June" Cook

Age 85, of Garland, Tx, passed away on October 7, 2019 in Garland, Tx. She was born on February 12, 1934 in Ft. Worth, Tx. June is survived by two sons, Roger Cook, Steven and Misti Cook of Garland; two granddaughters, Kayla Cook and Karli Cook of Denton, Tx; one brother Jimmy Woodall of Irving, Tx. June's passage was preceded by her parents and one brother, and in 2015 by Raymond Cook, husband of 62 years.
VISITATION will be Wednesday, October 16, 2019, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home. SERVICE will be Thursday, October 17, 2019, 10:00 AM at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel. INTERMENT will be Thursday, October 17, 2019, 1:00 PM at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery.
June was a 1952 graduate of Polytechnic High School in Ft. Worth, Tx and attended North Texas State University. She was awarded Honorary Life Membership in both Texas (1975) and National (1979) Congress of Parents and Teachers for her decades of local PTA development and leadership. June retired from Garland Independent School District after 32+ years as Data Clerk at North Garland High School. Most recently she enjoyed the sisterhood of her Epsilon Sigma Alpha chapter, Beta Zeta, for whom she crocheted hundreds of prayer shawls as hospital comfort gifts.
