Viola Frizzell

February 10, 1935 — July 5, 2019

Vi was born February 10, 1935 to Silas and Myrtle Wagner, and given the name of Docia Viola Wagner. Docia after her grandmother on her father's side, and Viola after her mother's sister. She was number four of six children. She was a 1953 graduate of Santa Anna High School. She met and married her late husband Elmer Edward Baker (Rex) on November 7, 1953 and moved to the Dallas area. Vi went to work as a tech at Texas Instruments in 1955 on Lemmon Ave. in Dallas, and later moved to the Expressway site when it was built and opened. She and Rex eventually settled in Garland, Texas, where they raised their three children Kenneth Wayne Baker (1957), Justin Perry Baker (1959) and Katrina Kay Baker Barr (1962). In 1981 she transferred to Midland Texas, with TI, where she managed the Environmental Test Lab. While in Midland, she lost her husband Rex on December 3, 1982.
Sometime later, she would become close friends and eventually started dating a co-worker from the Dallas site, who would come to Midland to work on equipment in the test lab. Sometime in 1985, she moved back to the Dallas area and went to work at the Lewisville site of TI as a manager in the defense division. The co-worker, the new love of her life was Bill Frizzell. Bill and Vi were married on October 18, 1985. They together blended their grown children together as one family. Bill joined his two kids William Calvin Frizzell (1958) and daughter Nova Jean Frizzell Lane (1960), with Vi's three kids. Holiday's became more and more interesting over the years as their family grew. Together they had 10 grandchildren and 14 precious great grandchildren. They considered themselves truly blessed with family, because family was everything to them. They lived and worked all the time on the 17 ½ acres in Parker Texas. They were members of Sachse Assembly of God, now Northplace Church for years, before moving closer to their daughter Katrina and her family three years ago.
On July 5, 2019, Vi earned her wings. She passed two weeks after being diagnosed with Lymphoma. She is survived by her sister Pat Ingram, brother FB (Butch) Wagner, husband Bill Frizzell, son Justin Baker, daughter by marriage Nova Lane, daughter Katrina Barr (Matt). Grandchildren: Mitch Baker, David Baker (Kristan), Dusty Thomas (Sabrina), Paula Herrick (Rob), Wesley Frizzell, Josiah Baker, Karissa Barr, Emily Tolson (John), Bri Baker. Great grandchildren: Christian, Chasity, Sydney, Conner, Cadyn, Devin, Kaleb, Carson, Kenlee, Trey, Madison, Colten, Landon, and Makenzie, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Silas and Myrtle Wagner, her brother SC Wagner, Sister Mildred Ford, Sister Joyce Cupps, late husband Rex Baker, grandson Chad Baker, son Kenneth Baker, son by marriage Calvin Frizzell, and nephews Randy Ingram and Danny Ingram.
