Victor Manuel Batres Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2022 at his home in Copeville, Texas. He was born in El Paso, Texas on August 24, 1949 to Alfonso R. Batres and Maria Alicia Craver Batres, and grew up in the community of Ysleta. He attended South Loop Elementary and graduated from Ysleta High School in 1967. Victor attended El Paso Community College and Sul Ross State University. He was a substitute teacher for the Ysleta School District. Victor was an entrepreneur having started a few businesses before he worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. He later worked at Cushman & Wakefield (C&W services) until his retirement. He loved his family and served his country honorably via military service. Victor was a Vietnam Era Army Veteran and did an overseas tour in Okinawa. Victor was a respected worker and deeply loved by his family.
He is survived by his wife Irma Batres and children Victor Manuel Batres Jr., Victor Lee Batres, Adriana Castillo, Julie Ana Batres, Virginia Batres, and Yanel Batres. His siblings include Dr. Santiago Batres, Dr. Alfonso Batres, Margarita Batres Vasquez, and Mauricio Batres. His grandchildren include Alexia Daveed, Marissa Welker, Kaleb Batres, Jorge Erineo Palma, Jennifer and Joshua Palma, Anthony Lee, David Lee Batres; and two great grandsons, Judah and Samuel Daveed. He is preceeded in death by his parents, Alfonso R. Batres and Maria Alicia Craver Batres.
His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and everyone who loved him.
