Verden Loarell Harris

Verden Loarell Harris passed way on February 5, 2025 following a lengthy battle with heart disease.

Loarell was born on September 2, 1943 in Como, Texas to Jerry and Mary Harris. He was the fourth child of five children.  After graduating from Como High School in 1961 he moved to Garland, Texas and eventually began a 35 year career with Ford Motor Company.  He was a devoted family man to his wife and children.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.  He also had a passion for coaching youth baseball and football where he instilled lessons in boys that carried into adulthood.  Following his coaching career he volunteered as a Little League umpire for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Linda Harris; son Todd Harris and wife Janet; daughter Shannon Harris Kennedy and husband Kevin; sister Margaret Jean Braden; brother David Harris and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parent's; Mary and Jerry Harris; his siblings Orvis Harris and Willie Harris.
