Vera Athey, 75 of Princeton, TX passed away on March 3rd, 2023. Vera was boron November 19th, 1947, in Savoy, Texas She is one of 10 children to Samuel Harris (Cherokee Indian) and Elizabeth Harris (Choctaw Indian).
She married Leonard Athey January 23rd, 1965. They have been married 58 years. You hardly saw one without the other.
She loved to sing at her church, Vera loved fixing big meals for her family and friends. Even though she loved to cook, she was a very picky eater and didn’t eat much.
Vera was saved when she was 9 years old. Vera was good natured, but don’t let that fool you, she can get mad when pushed too far, she fought for what she thought was right.
Vera is proceeded in death by her mother and father, and siblings, a daughter in law Natalie Athey and a grandson Randy Lee Athey,
Vera is survived by her husband Leonard Athey, son Douglas & daughter-in-law Kimberly Athey, son Dwayne Athey and daughter-in-law Cassie Shook and sister Frankie Kennedy; 7 grandchildren Michael and Crysta Athey, Jessica and Chris Medaris, Stephani Athey and Tiffany Starbuck as well as 12 great grandchildren.
