Val Lira Castellanos was born in East Chicago, Indiana on November 9, 1961 to Homero and Maria Victoria Lira. Val moved to Plano, TX in 1977 with her family. She passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023. Val met Mike in 1997 and they married each other on February 9, 2000. Together they founded a General Contracting Firm called MCR Contractors; a successful multi service firm.
In addition to loving her family, Val loved to travel to East Chicago to visit family and friends. She also loved to cook and shared meals with friends and family often. Everyone was always invited to a seat at the table at “Crossbend”, the family’s home since she moved to Plano. She took pride in looking absolutely stunning, however her greatest joy were her nieces and nephews and their children. She showered all with love and gifts. She loved each one as her own and helped raise and guide them through life. She was so proud of the adults that they have become. Val is remembered by so many as an Angel, a beautiful soul, and extremely giving and kind, always thinking of others and never putting herself first.
Val is preceded in death by her parents, to include her beloved Stepfather Julian Martinez; her brothers, Benjamin and Romel Lira. To cherish her memory are her husband Mike, her siblings, Marisa, Joe, Nancy, Dinorah and Donaji, to include their spouses. She also leaves her many nieces, nephew’s, cousins, and her God Daughter Isabella Lamkin as well as a host of loving friends.
