Ursula MaShay Snowden was born on November 8, 1979 in West Monroe, Lousiana to the union of Lorraine Snowden and the late George Gregory Snowden.
At an early age she accepted Christ at Calvary Missional Baptist under the pastorate of the late Reverend P. Rayfield Brown III.
On Sunday, February 23, 2025 the quiet sweet voice of our Savior whispered to Ursula "Shay" and said, "Come unto to me and I will give thee rest".
Ursula was a bright and spirited child with a deep love for books. Her passion for reading followed her into adulthood. She carried this love for simple pleasures throughout her life, finding happiness in the warmth of family, the joy of shared laughter, and the comfort of her favorite meals - especially tacos and pizza from Johnny's.
She had a gift for making people feel welcomed and loved. Her infectious laughter and radiant smile could light up any space and her presence brought warmth to those around her. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family and friends, always offerings support, encouragement, and unconditional love.
She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of many.
She faced life's challenges with remarkable courage, meeting even the toughest moments with a smile and laughter that could brighten any room. Her strength and resilience were truly inspiring, and though she endured hardships, she remained a beacon of love and positivity until the very end.
While her absence leaves an unfillable void, her spirit and love will forever live in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loved mother, Lorraine Snowden; her beloved daughters, KeAndrea Snowden and Jatayia Snowden; sister, Gretchen Snowden; brother, Jamel Snowden; great aunt, Ella Selmon; aunts and uncles, Jacquelyne (Patrick) Harvey; Louise (Gene) Williams; Maurice (Glenda) Snowden; and Norris Snowden; Godmother, Brenda Kyles; Godsister, Zakiya Kyles; Godbrother, Bobby Kyles, Jr.; special aunts, Mary Anderson and Diane Gilmore; nieces, Haylee Snowden, Jerzee Jordan, Brenna Cole and Lili Lewellen; nephew, Nicholas Ewald; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
