Tom was born November 17, 1968 in Abilene, Texas to Joyce and Kenton Kidwell. Tom fought a valiant fight with a diagnosis of cancer but lost the battle on April 28, 2020.
Tom attended school in Abilene, Texas graduating from Cooper High School in 1987 and Abilene Christian University Master's Program in 2016. Tom was employed in the medical field as a Practice Manager for several years, but his true passion was for design and beauty, in 1996 he founded Evening Art by Tom Kidwell, designing couture evening and pageant wear for lucky ladies of Texas and the USA.
Tom is survived by his mother, Joyce Wheless Kidwell and her husband Clark Nutt of Abilene, Texas; siblings Peggy Kidwell Jones and husband Glenn Jones, of Dallas, William "Lee" Kidwell and his wife Traci Kidwell of Abilene; 6 nephews (Jeff, Shane, Steven, Chris, Ferris, and Carter), 2 nieces (Casey and Averi), 5 great nephews and 1 great niece. Tom was preceded in death by his dad, Knox Kenton "KK" Kidwell, his maternal grandparents Peggy Darby Wheless and Ray Wheless; paternal grandparents Anna Rice Kidwell and William "Bill" Kidwell, and uncle Russell Tom "Tommy" Wheless. Tom is also survived by uncles Randell Wheless, Ray Wheless and his wife Cyndi Wheless, and Ron Wheless and two aunts Raylyn Van Meter and Linda Rhodes. He is also survived by several cousins, other extended family and a host of many friends.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life for a later date.
