Tommy Joe Hafer

Tommy Joe Hafer was born on April 20, 1952, in Hico, Texas. After graduating from Clifton High School, he attended Texas A&M University and received a degree in Business Agriculture. Tommy retired in 2020 after a successful career in sales and finance. Throughout his life, he was a devoted family man and loved each of his grandkids being remembered as T-Paw, Pooh-Paw, and Papa.

He will be remembered for his fishing, hunting, drive-thru troubles, coaching, soft-heart, and amazing stories. He was a coach, referee, and the commissioner for ASA Basketball Association. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Gayle Hafer; his brother, Terry Hafer and his wife, Dedri, of Hillsboro, Texas; his son, Jeffery Ryan Hafer and his wife, Sima, of McKinney, Texas; his son, Justin Louis Hafer and his wife, Marsha, of Argyle, Texas; his daughter, Jayme Michelle Hafer Doggett and her husband, Michael of Wylie, Texas. He is survived by 6 grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a host of friends. 

A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in McKinney, TX on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, at 11:00am-12:00pm with viewing starting at 10:00am. Following the service, in McKinney, a graveside service will be held in Meridian, TX starting at 3pm.
