Toby "Shelley" Vermilyea

January 20, 1946 — May 12, 2020

Toby Richelle Burke Vermilyea, known to us as Chelle, born on January 20, 1946 passed away peacefully on May 12, 2020. She is survived by her daughter Amanda Gayle Vermilyea; her siblings Roberta Dansby, David Burke, Marlita Condreay; and her ex-husband Ed Vermilyea.

Chelle lived in McKinney, TX for most of her life. She graduated from McKinney High School (now Faubian) and went to study at Brigham Young University where she became a lifelong Cougar fan.

Chelle was a devoted mother who taught her daughter to serve others the way Christ did, with love and compassion for all. Chelle is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had a love of family history and was a temple worker at the Dallas Texas Temple for many years.

Chelle loved to dance and sing. Her favorite dance move was "the bump." She also loved to sing in the church choir. Her new favorite hobby was watching The Food Network and trying out recipes she learned with all her kitchen appliances.

Chelle's smile lit up rooms, and opened doors for her to make countless best friends. She was blessed to call everyone she met a friend.

A private graveside service is set for May 14, 2020 at Pecan Grove Cemetery where her mortal body will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers please donate to her
