Tillie Beckmann

January 28, 1943 — April 15, 2020

Tillie Katherene Beckmann
"Kathy"
Born January 28th, 1943
Entered Eternity on April 15th, 2020

Kathy was born to Herman and Polly Booth in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She entered this world first of three sisters, followed by Betty and Mary. While working and attending Pepperdine Univesity, she met and married Max Beckmann. They settled in Camarillo, California and had three children; Ralph, Steven, and Kathy Lynne. From the time they were children, she taught them of God's love and of his Son Jesus. Her life echoed her love for God. She was an active member of the Church of Christ, first in Camarillo and then currently at Buckingham Road in Garland, Texas.

In 1998 her husband Max passed away after 35 years of marriage. She soon moved to Sachse, Texas to be near her youngest daughter. Her son Steve soon followed. Kathy's family grew to fourteen grandchildren and eventually three great granddaughters. Her granddaughter Sarah (and Sarah's family) moved in with Kathy to aid her however they could in 2017. Three years Kathy lived, loved, and praised God. During the pandemic of 2020 Kathy was joyful. She was truly happy. It wasn't because she was "sheltering in place"; it was because (we believe) God was preparing her (and preparing the family). On Easter Sunday she had to be taken to the emergency room and was placed in the ICU. After a brief time in the hospital, Kathy left this earth to join Christ. There is a hole where only Tillie Katherene Beckmann could fill.

Her granddaughter Sarah opened her Bible the night of her death to discover the last verse Kathy was reading in her Bible:
"They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death." Revelations 12:11
It was appropriate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her grandson Jonathan, and her sister Betty, Betty's husband Ed, her brother-in-law Merl, her sister-law Jean and many other special family members. She leaves behind many on this earth. She is survived by her son Ralph Beckmann, daughter-in-law Ruzanna Beckmann, and granddaughter Sofia, son Steven Beckmann, her daughter Kathy Lynne Marr, son-in-law Thomas Marr, and grandchildren Tom Marr, his wife Elizabeth, Sarah Rios, her husband Ivan Rios, Anna Marr, Max Marr, Benjamin Marr, Rebekah Marr, Jael Marr, Rachel Marr, Gabriel Marr, Timothy Marr, Grace Marr, and Hope Marr. She leaves behind her great granddaughters Isabella Rios, Allie Marr, and Gabriella Rios. She also leaves behind her youngest sister Mary Lydiken, her brother-in-law Ken Lydiksen, and nephews and nieces Charlotte Lydiksen, Eddie Walton, Don Lydiksen, and Sheila Minnick and her husband Brian Minnick, Kay Dunnion, her husband Don Dunnion. Truly, there are too many to list.

While we wait until it's our turn, we stand in the knowledge that she didn't "shrink from death", but ran to life.

Because of Covid-19 an online memorial service is planned for Saturday the 2nd of May at 4:00pm CST.
