Thurman Pittsinger

Simon Thurman Pittsinger, 87, of Sachse, Texas, passed in peace on January 8, 2019, in Plano, Texas. Thurman was born in Denton, Texas, on November 10, 1931, to Charles and Ruby (Morris) Pittsinger. He was a longtime Deacon at First Baptist Church Sachse, served on the Sachse City Council, and also served on the City of Sachse Volunteer Fire Department. He and his wife, Rita, were married on May 19, 1950.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Rita Joy Pittsinger; son Keith Pittsinger and wife Cathey; son Stephen Pittsinger and wife Debra; daughter Vickie Helm and husband Kelly; sister Barbara Cole; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Pittsinger and Ruby (Morris) Pittsinger; three brothers; Charley, Gilbert, and Elmer (Butch); and three sisters; Mary Lou, Ruby Mae, and Virginia.
