Thomas Jerry Redden was born October 25,1942 in Littlefield, Texas to JP Redden and Edna Butcher Redden. He passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at his home in Garland, Texas. He grew up in Phillips, Texas, and graduated from Phillips High School. Jerry attended Texas Tech University and later, Southern Methodist University. His family moved from Phillips to Lubbock, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Marilyn Kay Reese. They were married on February 20, 1965 in Lubbock. Jerry and Marilyn moved to Garland in 1969 where he lived out the remainder of his life. Marilyn and Jerry have two children Cathy and Jeff. He is preceded in death by his parents, Penn and Edna Redden. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Cathy and husband Charlie Peterson, Jeff and wife Christy Redden; and close family; Michelle and husband Mike Bartsch and children; grandchildren, Aaron Peterson and wife Harley, Andrew Peterson and wife Hayden, and Christen Peterson; great granddaughter, Hadley Jewel Peterson; brothers, William Redden and wife Billie Rose, Michael Redden and wife Jeanetta; sister, Susan Etheridge; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jerry was a member of the Garland Library Board for 13 years. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed drawing, fishing, working on his cars, hunting, and the outdoors. Most days he spent working in his garden and tending his flower beds. His greatest passion was his family, especially the children. He was saved as a teenager and rededicated his life to the Lord as a young man. He was a member of Lake Pointe Firewheel Church in Garland, Texas.
