Thomas “Tom” Jerome Murphy, 82, of Wylie, Texas was called home to Heaven in the early morning hours of Friday, March 3, 2023. He was loved by so many. Thomas was an amazing husband, father, friend, and brother. He had the best sense of humor and the biggest heart.

Thomas was born on June 10, 1940 in Harris, Iowa. He was the oldest of six siblings, Dennis, Ellen, Connie, Dianne, and Cheryl.
After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1958, he lived in Boone, Iowa for about two years. He married and had two children, Thomas and Julie. He worked for John Deere and Sears before being drafted into the Army in 1964. He did his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He also completed his AIT and Military Police training at Fort Gordon in Georgia. Thomas was deployed to Germany for two years and was stationed in Wurzburg, Germany. In June 1966, he came back to the states and moved to Dallas, Texas where he went back to working at Sears. In 1967, he was remarried and had a daughter, Misty. He also raised her older brother John Michael as his own. They moved to Garland, Texas and he started a new career in retail management, operating drug stores and later managing superstores for over 15 years. After retail management, he became a salesman for RC Cola Corporation until they went out of business. In 1999, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a business owner. He opened an auto glass business A-TREND Auto Glass, LLC. After retiring, he worked part-time jobs to keep busy.

In 1975, he was married to his present wife Roseann Murphy and they have been married 47 years. They lived in Allen, Texas for over 10 years before settling down in Wylie, Texas where they have been ever since. They have four children Eric, Erin, Natalie and Drew. Thomas had nine grandkids, Kyrie, Christopher, Kirsten, Kayla, Ashley, Ava, Casen, Jake, and Paisley. Thomas spent many of his last days working on his beloved ranch in Emory, Texas with his wife Roseann. This was a lifelong dream for the two of them to own their own ranch.
