Thomas Edward Morrison

January 14, 1918 — March 19, 2015

Thomas Edward Morrison was born January 24th, 1918 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of Arnold and Grace Morrison. He had two sisters and one brother who all preceded him in death.

Tom married Lena Mae Henson, daughter of Jess and Ethel Henson. They were married for 63 years until her death in 2003. Tom and Lena resided in Paxton, Illinois. They had three children, William of Loves Park, Illinois, Sandra Schoonover of Frisco Texas and Buddy, who died at the age of 4 after being hit by a car. Tom was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of 12 and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Mattoon, Illinois. He was baptized a second time at the age of 80 in First Baptist Church of Duncanville Texas. Tom was personally involved in the starting of the First Baptist Church of Paxton. From there he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and joined Waldron Baptist Church. He attended services at Parkview Retirement Home where he resided until death.

Tom served in the navy during WWII. After the war, he worked in construction building houses until 1950, when he started his 20 year career with the U.S. Post Office. He retired in 1970 and moved to Corpus Christi

Texas. They resided in Corpus Christi for 15 years and moved back to Illinois until Lena became ill and moved back to Texas to be closer to family.

God blessed Tom with the gift of faith and the ability to tell others about Jesus. He spent his spare time reading the bible. He read the old testament 20 times and the new testament 47 times. He served God until the end, telling others about Jesus Christ. He learned early to always take the word with you.
