Thelma Estelle Tyson

Thelma Estelle Tyson, age 96 of Lavon, Texas passed away July 12, 2017. She was born December 8, 1920 in Cliff, New Mexico to Robert and Tracie (Lewis) Huey. She Lived in Lavon, Texas and was active with her husband in politics She was in the Navy for about four years. She was also a teacher and assistant stylist at the Neilson Beauty School in Oak Cliff in the 1960's. She provided ongoing support to her husband who was County Commission for the city of Dallas for 20 years. She was avid supporterof theDemocratic party and wasnamedDemocratic Woman ofthe Year for 1967.She was married to James Warren Tyson who passed away January 3, 2008.

Ms. Tyson is survived by her son Eugene Tyson and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11:00 A.M Wednesday July 19, 2017 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery @ 2:15 P.M.
