Thelma O. "Dessie" Haker was born on October 12, 1921 to William Thomas and Margaret Elnora Gressett in Grayson County, TX. She passed away January 15, 2016 in Richardson, TX.Dessie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Otto L. Haker and 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jim Smith of Murphy; dear friends, Cookie and Phil Foster of Murphy and Carrie Parker of Arlington, VA; extended family, Chris, Robin and Cortland Smith of Carrollton; sister, Vera Skipworth of Sherman; brother, Dave Gressett of Tioga, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Services will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, TX on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 - 1:45 P.M. Burial will be at the Sachse Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross for disaster relief or to your favorite charity.
