Terry Michael Collins, Sr.,64, of Princeton, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Plano, after a long illness following a stroke. He was born on January 20, 1950 in Fleming, KY to Jack and Jackie Collins, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood, Arkansas in 1968. He served 4 years in the Air Force. He was a police officer for Phoenix Police Department, AZ, and a jailer for Garland Police Department, TX. He was a sergeant at Plano Police Department beginning his employment there in 1974. After leaving Plano, he was a deputy sheriff for Ellis County Sheriff's office. Before becoming ill, he worked for Allied-Barton Protective Services in Dallas for 15 years.
Terry was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved cooking, movies, guns,knives and all kinds of animals.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sandra, his daughter and son-in-law, Candice and John Ashcraft of Conway, AR, his son, Terry Jr of Cabot, AR, stepdaughter and son-in-law, Julia and David Jones, stepdaughter and son-in-law, Emma and Jose Suazo and stepson and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kathalene Harland of Winfield, KS. He is also survived by granddaughters Micaela Smith and Aubrey Suazo of Princeton, granddaughter and grandson, Haley Ashcraft and Austin Ashcraft of Conway, AR and grandson, Adam Collins of Cabot, AR and sister, Tanya Collins-Hicks of Dallas, a niece, several aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be at 9am on Saturday, 10/18/2014, at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee, McKinney TX. Service will follow at 10am at this location. Burial will be at Memoryland Memorial Park n Greenville, TX.
