Teresa Lo Iacono Del Ferro (Ucci) was born in Trieste, Italy on March 4, 1934 to Ernesto and Nives Lo Iacono and had two sisters, Nives and Netto (deceased).
Growing up, she played the piano just short of professionally and enjoyed the Trieste beaches and country side. In her mid 20s, she was employed at several U.S. military bases where she met and married Army Serviceman Joseph Del Ferro of Norristown, PA.
She was a true believer in raising a family as she had been, fully Italian style. Family was extremely important to her as was her Catholic faith. She extended her family as she became the very proud owner of four dogs (Nivetta, Cameron, Trinity and Buddy) in her later years. While she was always an avid supporter and contributor to many causes, she added animal rights because of her passion for her dogs.
She survived two battles with cancer but was finally taken from us all when the disease overcame her physical body but never her spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe, children Marie and husband John, Greg, and Elizabeth and husband Matjaz and two grandsons, Ari and Marco.
In lieu of flowers, cards or gifts, we would be honored to have a contribution made in Teresa Del Ferro's name to the SPCA of Texas, a non-profit organization serving Northern Texas dedicated to bringing animals and people together to enrich each others' lives. This certainly happened to Ucci and for her dogs as 3 of the 4 were adopted from here.
