Sylvia Ruth Talkington

Sylvia passed away on October 15, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm. The viewing will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.

Sylvia was born on December 12, 1941, in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from John Tyler High School and attended Tyler Junior College. In 1960 she moved to Dallas and later began working at Texas Instruments where she met her late husband Bob Talkington. They were married for 27 years and together they owned the Flower Cottage in Allen, TX. Sylvia was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt and a member of the church choir. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her into catering business' in Tyler and Graham keeping her busy doing what she loved. She touched people with her cooking and positive attitude. A woman of few words, made her a great listener and loyal friend to many.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter; Kellye Hillmer and husband Steve of San Antonio, TX; Lisa Rogan and husband Alan of Gunter, TX; son Mike Talkington and wife JoAnn of Parker, TX; grandchildren; Travis Hillmer and Riley Rogan, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Also survived by sister; Betty McMasters of Rowlett, TX; brothers Edward Hand and wife LaVerne of Carrollton, TX; and Billy Max Hand of San Antonio, TX.
