Sylvia Lee Deeds

April 18, 1940 — May 16, 2015

Sylvia Lee Hagenson Deeds, age 75, of Richardson, Texas, passed away into God's hands peacefully in her sleep from natural causes on Saturday, May 16, 2015. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sylvia was born in Helena, Montana to the late Virginia Connelly Hagenson and Sylvan Hagenson on April 18, 1940.

Sylvia grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After graduating high school in Aberdeen, she married Raymond Edward Deeds in July of 1959. They had five children (three sons and two daughters).

Sylvia was a First United Methodist Church member, taught swimming lessons and was a lifeguard. She was an active member of the PTA, where she volunteered her time at numerous school and fundraising activities.

Sylvia was very active and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed quilting, tennis, cooking, square dancing and crafts of all kinds, such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlepoint, cross stitch, and embroidery, to name a few. She was very competitive and loved sports and card games, especially Spades, Phase 10 and Bingo. She also loved the outdoors and immensely enjoyed working at Yellowstone National Park for several years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Raymond Edward Deeds; and her parents.

Sylvia is survived by her five children, Mickey Edwards Deeds, Pamela Ann Deeds Stromberg, Galen Paul Deeds, Robin Kay Deeds Kaufman, and Bailey Aaron Deeds; eleven grandchildren, Brock Treece, Matthew Stromberg, Brennan Stromberg, Brittany Welch, Brody Welch, Caleb Deeds, Jordan Deeds, Nicholas Deeds, Kayla Deeds, Estela Forster, and Anna Deeds; six great-grandchildren, EJ Roquermore, Eli Forster, Conner Treece, Nolan Treece, Lily Welch, and Dalton Welch; her only sister, Sonia Hagenson Huyck; and other relatives.
