Susan Ann Skinner Wyatt was born December 26, 1948 and went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2024. Susan was born in Wichita, Kansas to Robert Louis and Patricia Jean Skinner. After moving to Texas as a child, Susan graduated from Garland High School and went on to earn degrees in home economics and education and her Doctorate in Early Education from Texas Woman’s University. Susan met her husband, Frank Wyatt, while participating in community theater. In her career, Susan began teaching in high schools in Dallas ISD then was a professor of early education at Eastfield Community College for more than twenty-five years.

Susan was a long time member of Axe United Methodist Church in Garland where she sang in the choir, served as choir librarian, played handbells and lead the children’s messages each Sunday morning. Susan moved to Northlake Baptist Church in 2014 where she continued to sing in the choir, taught Ladies Sunday School, served in the clothes closet, and substitute taught for Sonshine Kids Parents’ Day Out. Throughout her life, Susan enjoyed community theater, singing in choral ensembles, needlework and quilting, reading, and a lifetime of laughter with her sons.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Patricia Skinner, and her husband, Frank Wyatt. She is survived by her sister, Deb Skinner, her children Eillie Wyatt of Irving, Texas, Patrick Wyatt and wife Kara of Canyon, Texas, Brandon Wyatt and wife Sarah of Rowlett, Texas and Grandchildren Seth, Jacob, Noah, Kenna and Baker Wyatt. Susan was a loving sister, mother, Nana, friend, and Christ-follower who will be dearly missed by many. 

A Celebration of Life for Susan will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 am at Northlake Baptist Church of Garland 1501 N. Country Club Rd., Garland, Tx 75040. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dallas Association for Parent Education.
