Susan Burns

On Monday, January 27, 2020, Susan Marie Burns, mother, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 51 years, surrounded by friends and family.
Susan attended Texas Womens University in Denton and graduated in 1995 with a degree in nursing.
Immediately after graduation, she began her 25 year nursing career at Baylor Hospital in Dallas and later transferred to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Plano where she has worked ever since. She rose up in her career to be a head Certified Operating Room Nurse and First Assistant. Susan consistently strived to learn as much as she could, so she could better help others (as it was her nature to always put others first). She was an exceptional nurse, with a big heart, which landed her the title "Mama Bear" from her beloved coworkers. She touched so many lives, personally and professionally. There's no counting how many lives she helped to save and how many people she comforted through the years. Susan also volunteered her time as a member of the City of Murphy CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
She will be dearly missed by many.
Susan (also lovingly known as Susie and/or Tootie), will be forever remembered by her daughter, Jessica Burns, by her parents Martin and Gayle Jones, and by her brother, Paul Jones. Susan will also be forever remembered by her many aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and extended family and dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., at Crossroads Church, 7900 Chiesa Rd, Rowlett, TX 75089
