Steven Averill Lokey, 47, of Nevada, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with family. Born in Mexia, Texas, Steven was the beloved son of the late Patrick and Barbara Lokey. He was raised in Longview, Texas, where he built deep roots and lifelong friendships. Since 2020, he had made his home in Nevada, Texas.
Steven never met a stranger. His heart was open, his laughter contagious, and his presence brought light and joy wherever he went. Whether with family, friends, or someone he’d just met, Steven had a rare gift for making others feel at ease and valued.
Steven deeply loved his family and held them close to his heart. He looked up to his sister, Sarah Barton, with immense admiration and love—a bond that stood strong through every stage of life. Their connection was one of respect, laughter, and unwavering support.
Steven was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Patrick and Barbara Lokey, and so many other family members.
Steven is survived by his sister, Sarah Barton, and her husband Jason; his cherished lifetime love, Angie Johnson; and many family and friends that love Steven fiercely. Steven’s memory will live on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and boundless spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Steven’s memory to either: Cornerstone Ranch in McKinney, TX or HUGS Café Inc.
Steven was joy personified—gone too soon but never forgotten. His light will live on in all who had the blessing of knowing him.
