Age 58, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, passed away January 8, 2012 at his brother's home in Garland, Texas after a brief illness.
He was born May 7, 1953 to Ted and Patricia Leonard in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
Steve was an independent semi-truck operator for K Line Truck Line and Land Bridge Truck Line in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Leonard, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Steve is survived by his mother, Patricia Leonard of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two brothers, Chris Leonard and his wife, Sharon of Waterloo, Iowa and Joseph Leonard and his wife, Kathy of Garland, Texas; sister, Nancy Leonard Duncan and her husband, David of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nephews, Patrick Leonard, Christopher Leonard and Stephen Duncan; and his niece, Jessica Duncan.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
