Stephen Scott Edwards

March 24, 1962 — March 2, 2017

Stephen Scott Edwards born March 24, 1962, and passed away in Dallas, TX on March 2, 2017, following complications from heart failure. Steve was born and raised in Garland, TX. He attended Daugherty and Parkcrest Elementary schools, Sam Houston Middle School and North Garland High School.

Steve was married for ten years to Beth Russell and they had three children. Their first child, Stephen Scott Edwards, Jr., died at birth in August 1980. They later had two other children, Stephanie Elizabeth and Christopher Kyle.

Until health forced early retirement, Steve held several jobs including in the print shop of Safeway Admin. Office, Hall Graphics and Tuesday Morning. During high school, Steve worked at Orchards Hills Drug Store and the Dairy Queen. He was an avid fan of movies and video games. He treasured his son and daughter and his seven sweet grandchildren. Steve could be quite a comic and loved to make people laugh.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Travis Edwards. He is survived by his two loving children: daughter Stephanie Etheridge and husband Josef Etheridge of Colorado Springs, CO and their four children: Logan, Londyn, Hadley and Harper; and son Christopher Edwards and wife Dianna of Garland, TX and their three children: Abigail, Christopher, Jr., and Ava Marie; devoted mother, Frances Maria Edwards; sister Tamara Lynette Edwards Witt and husband, Russell Witt of Quinlan, TX and their daughter, Kylee Elizabeth; and aunt, Karen Powell and family of Garland; uncle, Arlie Edwards and wife, Darlene, of Wills Point, TX; and numerous cousins.

The family plans two private celebrations of Steve’s life. One is to be this month to remember his 55th birthday and another in the summer when his daughter and family can be here.
