Stephen Craig Dooly, 72, of Princeton, Texas passed away at home on Thursday, July 12, 2018.
He was born on January 21, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to William and Ann (Lazonby) Dooly.
Prior to residing in Texas, Stephen lived in Iowa and Illinois, and he also spent time serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1967.
He was a lifetime Union sheet metal worker, and even enjoyed building copper planters, vases, lanterns, and flower stands from home as a pastime. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan, and could be found on Sundays watching every NFL game he could. Stephen enjoyed fishing and attending VFW and American Legion events with his veteran brothers.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, of 32 years, Jaynee (Hansen) Dooly. He is also survived by his first wife, Rene Dooly, and their children; Melissa Chenchar (Andy) and Shad Dooly, all of Des Moines, Iowa. Additionally surviving are a grandchild; Max Chenchar of Des Moines, step-daughters; Kelly LeMonds and Kristi Jorgensen-Kimball, and grandchildren; Andrea, Kelsey, Ryan, Christopher, Matthew, and Joshua. Surviving siblings are Robert Dooly of Prole, Iowa, Susie Hill of Des Moines, Iowa, and Billy Dooly also of Des Moines.
Stephen is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Dooly.
