Silvio Longo, of Murphy, Texas, passed away at age 71 on November 30th, 2013 at approximately 2:00 in the afternoon.
He was born on May 9th, 1942 in Trieste, Italy to Romualdo Longo and Carla Reja. On June 2nd, 1966, he married Rita Mosca.
In 1973, Silvio and Rita migrated to the U.S. to help his aunt and uncle with their restaurant business. Shortly after that, Silvio began to work for Tom Thumb and continued to work there until he retired about 10 years ago.
Silvio was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mosca Longo; and by his parents, Aldo and Carla Longo; and in-laws, Silvio and Maria Mosca.
Silvio is survived by his daughter, Sara Holsted and her husband, Chris; four grandchildren, Rachel, Kylie, Connor, and Mackenzie; brother, Gianfranco Longo and his wife, Nadia. He is further survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many, many friends.
A Memorial Service Celebrating Silvio's Life will be held on Thursday, December 5th, 2013 at 2:00 P.M., at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. Please join us in the celebration.
