Sidney Shy Short

Reverend Sidney Shy Short II, 55, of Parker, Texas passed away at his residence on February 1, 2014. He was born to Sidney Shy Short Sr. and Faye (Kitchen) Short in Norfolk, Virginia. He served his Country proudly in the United States Air-Force and was a Peace Officer for Escambia County. He married Julia Hicks on February 23, 2004 in Lancaster, Texas. He was a Pastor for Murphy Road Baptist Church and Founders Plaza.He is survived by his loving wife Julia (Hicks) Short. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will be held Tuesday 10:00 A.M. at Allen Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Webster, Co-Officiating will be Reverends Rafael Sierra and Byron Jackson. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Services entrusted to Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas.
