Age 91 passed from this life August 10, 2011 in Garland, TX. Mr. Walker was born August 1, 1920 in Murphy, TX to parents, Joseph Thomas and Sarah Alice Shatley.
He served his country during WWII in the Army under security attachment accompanying war prisoners.
After his military service he worked in the warehouse at Sherwin Williams Paint Company for 37 years.
He made his home in Garland, TX since 1956 and was a member of Garland First at Firewheel Church. Mr. Walker made his church faith and his family his life.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife Marion Walker, daughters, Kathryn Edney and her husband E.L. Jr., Nancy Endick and her husband Eric, grandsons; Doug Edney and his wife Kristyn, Jeff Edney and his wife Kristi, granddaughter, Lauren Endick, great granddaughters; Ashleigh and Brooke Edney, great grandson, Hudson Walker Edney, step children; Nila Orouke, Blane Robinson, Leonard Robinson and Melaine Ford, 10 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Ola Mae Martin Walker and six brothers and six sisters.
Visitation will be 6 " 8 P.M. Friday at Charles W Smith & Sons Sachse Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday August 13, 2011 at Garland First at Firewheel Church, 5500 Lavon Drive, Garland, Texas 75040. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.
