Sherry Burke

November 12, 1946 — February 23, 2019

Sherry M. Burke, age 72, loving and caring mother, wife and devoted worker, friend and servant in her church, entered the presence of her Savior on February 23, 2019 after a long and courageous battle of 30 years with Parkinson's Disease.
Sherry was born on November 12, 1946 in Dallas, Texas the daughter of Paul L. and Betty Jo Matlock. She moved to Garland in 1950 and was a graduate of Garland High School and active in music, keyboard and choral activities in school and throughout her life. She married Philip Burke in Garland, Texas on September 2, 1967. Upon completion of Philip's college and military service, both moved out of state, then returned to Garland in 1977.
Sherry is survived after 49 years of marriage by her husband Philip, daughter Amy Loter and her children Riley, Sophia and Ava Loter; daughter Natalie Kellenberger, husband Ken and daughter Grace; and sister Penny Dillard. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and only grandson Gabriel Hill.
She was a member of Redeemer Bible Church in Dallas, Texas. Her family asks that memorials be made to the Redeember Bible Church 721 Easton Road Dallas, Texas 75218 or to the Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society 6370 Lyndon B. Johnson Fwy Suite #170 Dallas, Texas 75240.
There will a Memorial Service Friday March 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church Garland 801 West Avenue D Garland, Texas 75040.
