Sherry Lynn Bacher

Sherry Lynn Bacher, 74, of Wylie, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 20, 2025. She was born on February 10, 1951, to Mickey and Joy Housewright, who preceded her in death, along with her older brother, Gregory J. Housewright.

Sherry graduated from Wylie High School in 1969 and East Texas Baptist College in 1972 with a degree in Secondary Education. She met the love of her life, Buddy, on August 5, 1969, and they were married exactly 3 years later, sharing 52 years of love and devotion. Together, they raised a beautiful daughter, Tiffany Michelle, who was the light of Sherry's life. Sherry also leaves behind her beloved grand-dog Hank, who brought her so much joy.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Buddy; daughter Tiffany and grand-dog Hank; sisters Vickie and her husband Michael Turner, Penny and her husband Brad McDonald; and numerous nephews and nieces who will all dearly miss her.

Sherry was an educator for over seven years in the Wylie School District before retiring to become a devoted stay-at-home mother. Her love for teaching and helping others was evident in everything she did. She was passionate about spending time with her family, traveling, and serving on mission trips. One of her most cherished activities was watching Elvis concerts with her daughter, Tiffany. Sherry’s heart was full of love for her family, her faith, and her community. She found joy in hosting Bible studies alongside her husband, Buddy, and her unwavering faith in the Lord was a guiding force throughout her life.

Sherry will be remembered for her kindness, her loving spirit, and her devotion to her family and faith. She touched many lives, and her legacy will live on through the many hearts she has touched.

A memorial service to celebrate Sherry’s life will be held at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm with the service beginning at 2:00pm. Burial services will be at Kreymer Cemetery in Wylie. Friends and family are invited to gather and share their memories of this incredible woman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The National Parkinson’s Foundation or Michael J. Fox Foundation in memory of Sherry.
