Age 79, passed from this life in Garland, Texas on September 7, 2011. She was born in Halleyville, Alabama on December 18, 1931, to William B. Fulton and Lura Pearman Fulton.
Sherrell was married to James A. Loman on April 2, 1949. They were blessed with one son and two daughters.
Sherrell lived in Texas for over 50 years. She worked in the Texas state prison system for 13 years. She has the distinction of starting the first inmate Christian choir in the state prison system. She was a member of the Beulah Land Singers and taught a Widow's Sunday School Class at Bobtown Road Baptist Church.
Sherrell was an artist, an art teacher, and a china painter. She belonged to the Dallas Porcelain Art Guild, the Ellis County Porcelain Art Club, the North East Texas Porcelain Arts Club, the State Federation of Porcelain Art Clubs, and the International Porcelain Art Teachers of America.
Sherrell is survived by her children James Robert Loman and wife Felicia, Shirley Moxley, and Amelia Linde and husband David, her grandchildren Chance Ferguson, Bobby Loman, Erica and Tara Pasley, Andy Moxley, Jennifer Parker and husband Mike, Katy Najera and husband Brayden, and Jacob Linde, her great-grandchildren Michael and Violet Parker and Ben and Caleb Najera, and her beloved puppy Libby. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Billie Mobley.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Bobtown Road Baptist Church, 4206 Bobtown Road in Garland. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Bobtown Road Baptist Church. Reverend Paul Garcia and Reverend Dr. Clyde Spain will be officiating. Interment will take place in the Sachse Cemetery in Sachse, Texas.
