Sheila Shy Thomas

Sheila Shy Thomas, age 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2014 at her home in Princeton, TX. She was born on December 23, 1942 in Freer, TX.

Sheila married the love of her life, Leon Thomas, on October 24, 1978. They spent 36 wonderful years together. Sheila spent her years as a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of East Fork Baptist Church.

Sheila had a smile that could light up the room and a laugh that was contagious. She had a special way of making people feel better when they were down, and always offering support. Sheila was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She never met a stranger.

She enjoyed spending time on the computer and keeping in touch with old friends and loved ones. The water was a favorite place for her. Camping and fishing were some of her favorite things to do, as well as cooking and planting flowers in her flower garden. She also had a soft spot for the elderly. She would visit with them as often as she could.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Leon Thomas of Princeton, TX; 4 children, Cindy Miller of Spring, TX, Sharon Miller of Cypress, TX, Ed Miller of Dodd City, TX and Lori Stevens of Allen, TX; 1 brother, Montie Shy of Abilene, TX; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm, December 31, 2014 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel in Princeton. Interment followed at the Princeton Cemetery.
