Shaun Carl Raney

Shaun Carl “Buddy” Raney, age 33 of Garland, TX, passed away on November 21, 2016 at his home. He was born on January 28, 1983 in Garland to David Wayne and Cheryl (Evans) Raney. Shaun worked as an electrician, and he was a volunteer firefighter with the Able Springs Fire Department.Shaun had many passions and interests. He loved reading and cooking. His cooking is something that his family will certainly miss, as he was very creative in the kitchen. Camping, fishing and canoeing on Lake Quitman, floating the Guadalupe River and riding four wheelers were also things he loved to do. Although Shaun had his hobbies, his heart was full when spending time with his daughter, Heaven, and all of his nieces and nephews. He was “Uncle Buddy”, and he loved them all with everything he had.Shaun is survived by his parents, Cheryl and Greg Wells; daughter, Heaven Rickman; sisters, Courtney Raney, Brittany Wells, April Brown and Judy Merchant; brother, Gregory Wells; life-long “adopted” sister, Michelle Colley; Grandfather, Donald Raney; grandmother, Judy Wells; great uncle, Truman “Pepa” Spurgin; uncles, Richard Wells and Donald Raney, Jr.; aunts, Sharon Scott, Donna Wilson and Jan Thomas; cousins, Cassi Bennett, Breezy Raney, Alan Phipps and Justin Seay; nieces and nephews, Anthony, Mackenzie, Caden, Cole, Damen, Keirsten, Aidan, Landin, Aubrie and C.J.; many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David Raney; grandmothers, Geneva Raney and Nedra Evans; great aunt, Jimminell “Mema” Spurgin.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel in Sachse.
