Sharon Ann Shuford

Sharon Ann Shuford, 80, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed on November 19, 2024. Sharon, born on August 17, 1944, in Dewville, Texas was the proud daughter of Pleaman and Hazel Wright. 

She grew up in Leesville, Texas, and graduated from Nixon High School. She met her husband, Jack, at a Moods dance in late 1961 and they married in August 1962. Sharon had an unwavering love and devotion to the Lord. She was a stay-at-home mom that could fix anything. She was a talented artist and accomplished gardener, winning “Yard of the Month” in Plano, Texas several times. She was active in church and made many lifelong friends at FBC Corinth and Leesville Baptist Church. Her most loved passion was being Onnie to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Pleaman and Hazel Wright, and her sister Barbara Lott. 

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jack Shuford of Melisssa, TX, son Joe Shuford, daughter Karol Birdsall and husband Greg. Her grandchildren Shannon Johnson and husband Shane, Amanda Cook and husband Adam, Austin Birdsall and wife Megan, Maya and Eli Shuford; six great-grandchildren, sisters Janie Streety and husband Jim and Hope Wagener, along with numerous other family members and friends who will cherish her memory always.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025 at Leesville Baptist Church in Leesville, TX beginning at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Leesville Baptist Church.
