Sergeant Paul Hernandez

Sergeant Paul Hernandez, 67, of Lavon, Texas, passed away October 4, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Cuero, Texas on March 2, 1945 to Manuel and Guadalupe (Garcia) Hernandez. He married Vera Bendele on November 22, 1964 in Hale Center, Texas.
Sergeant Hernandez was a Texas DPS Trooper for over thirty-five years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Ray Hernandez; his parents; and two brothers, Joe Hernandez and Martin Hernandez.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Vera Hernandez; son, Ronald Paul Hernandez; five brothers, Mickey Hernandez, Silverio Hernandez, Ray Hernandez, Jon Hernandez, and Peter Hernandez; five sisters, Hilaria Garcia, Frances Alirez, Lupe Contreras, Polly Ibarra, and Louisa Guerrero; two beloved granddaughters, Angela Cantu and Haylee Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M., Monday, October 8, 2012 with a family visitation from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Charles W. Smith & Sons, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048.
Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at First Rowlett United Methodist Church, 4405 Main Street, Rowlett, Texas 75088. Reverend Ann Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Cemetery, Lavon, Texas.
